Version 6 of the MPR comes into effect on 12 April 2021 and can be found here.

To help keep you well informed and ready to integrate these changes into your processes, key changes include, but are not limited to:

  • Removal of the ability for a Subscriber to act as an Attorney to Digitally Sign a Registry Instrument or Document (5.6);
  • Amendments to the Client Authorisation form in Schedule 4 and an amendment confirming that forms previously signed are not invalidated by the new version of the form (MPR 6.3 and Schedule 4);
  • Amendments to right to deal requirements relating to mortgagors (MPR 6.4);
  • Amendments to the verification of identity requirements, including clarification of the requirement to re-verify the identity of persons (MPR 6.5);
  • Amendments strengthening security requirements around Digital Certificates (MPR 7.5);
  • Amendments to security and integrity provisions including cyber security awareness training requirements, and police background checks of Signers or Subscriber Administrator users (MPR 7.2). See below to receive complimentary cyber security training via InfoTrack.
