ELN System Requirements

1. System Platform Requirements

The following operating requirements apply for accessing the Sympli platform:

Minimum System Requirements
  • Windows computer (Win 7 or later) or Apple Mac Computer (OSX 10.10 or later)
  • Screen resolution of 1280×1024 or higher
  • 2GHz processor speed or higher and 40% or more free CPU
Supported Browsers
  • Google Chrome (Preferred)
  • Mozilla Firefox
Internet Access
  • The Sympli platform is a web-based application. A stable internet connection is required

2. Multi Factor Authentication*

Sympli uses mobile app based Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) solution as part of the authentication process. A user will need to download the Sympli Access app on their mobile device:

3. Obtaining Digital Certificates

Each Subscriber requires at least one Certificate Manager with a Digital Certificate. Additional users with signing permissions also require a Digital Certificate. Digital Certificates must be issued by a Gatekeeper accredited certificate authority
Currently, DigiCert (Symantec) is the only certificate authority supported by Sympli

Additional Operating Environments

The following additional operating environment requirements apply for obtaining Digital Certificates:

  • Supported Browsers: Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • An available standard USB 2.0/3.0 port
  • A secure hard token provided by Sympli for certificate storage
  • Appropriate local system rights

4. Document Signing Requirements*

Users with appropriate permissions within the Sympli platform will have the ability to digitally sign documents

Operating Environment Requirements

In addition to the Sympli Platform Requirements, the following operating environments are needed for document signers:

  • An available standard USB 2.0/3.0 port
  • A secure hard token provided by Sympli for certificate storage
  • Gemalto SafeNet (hard-token driver software)

*Subscribers can apply to Sympli for an exemption to this requirement and seek permission to use a software-based Digital Certificate. Sympli will approve requests at their discretion and may take into consideration other security measures implemented by the Subscriber, including compliance with ISO 27001
